Champlevé Enameled Pendants

Come explore champlevé enameling in this introductory weekend workshop where you will gain a fundamental understanding of enameling, with a focus on champlevé. We will create a pendant by piercing and then sweat soldering two layers of silver to create spaces to pack enamel into. Processes covered will be soldering, enameling with both opaque and transparent enamels, kiln firing and finishing techniques. This is an exploratory technical workshop and you can expect to leave with multiple samples and/or finished pendants. You will also leave this workshop with a basic understanding on how to set up an enameling studio at home. Open to all skill levels, some metalsmithing, piercing and soldering experience is helpful but not required.
